Chronicle Supposing Books The Duke of Shadows
In a debut romance as passionate and sweeping as the British Empire, Meredith Duran paints a powerful picture of an aristocrat torn between two worlds, an heiress who dares to risk everything...and the love born in fire and darkness that nearly destroys them. From exotic sandstone palaces... Sick of tragedy, done with rebellion, Emmaline Martin vows to settle quietly into British Indian society. But when the pillars of privilege topple, her fiancé's betrayal leaves Emma no choice. She must turn for help to the one man whom she should not trust, but cannot resist: Julian Sinclair, the dangerous and dazzling heir to the Duke of Auburn. To the marble halls of London... In London, they toast Sinclair with champagne. In India, they call him a traitor. Cynical and impatient with both worlds, Julian has never imagined that the place he might belong is in the embrace of a woman with a reluctant laugh and haunted eyes. But in a time of terrible darkness, he and Emma will discover that love itself can be perilous -- and that a single decision can alter one's life forever. Destiny follows wherever you run. A lifetime of grief later, in a cold London spring, Emma and Julian must finally confront the truth: no matter how hard one tries to deny it, some pasts cannot be disowned...and some passions never die.Specify Books Toward The Duke of Shadows

Dear Meredith Duran's fans. It's with utmost concern and heartfelt empathy that I must relate my elopement with the Duke of Auburn. Julian sends his deepest sympathies. It's not you dear, it never was it's me. 😉#TheDukeOfShadows #HesMineNow More reviews and book talk at : You can find me here too ☞Every once in a while I will find a book that will move me. It's more than just enjoying the storyline or characters or even just the beauty of the prose. It's all that and more. It's some indefinable spark in the story that draws me in and makes me feel transported. I love when I find that quality. It varies from person to person, but wherever it's found it's something to be treasured. I found that quality in this book. I know that it is one that I will be able to read again and again and still
This is one of those books where, after you read it, you think to yourself: "I don't know if I can be friends with someone who doesn't love this book." To say I loved this book would be a gross understatement. I don't know if it's because I've been in a deep, persistent reading funk recently, where every book I pick up strikes me as trite and poorly formed, second rate garbage, but this book felt like FINALLY drinking a cool glass of water after being forced to swallow brackish sludge for weeks.
Firstly, I must thank Lady Jayne for recommending this wonderful book, and Catherine for endorsing Jaynes rec. For some reason, this excellent read is not one that I have seen come up in discussion very much, or if it has, I have missed it. Given the buzz that surrounds other books, Im surprised this worthy title has not generated more chat and am grateful that it was brought to my attention. The Duke of Shadows is not your average historical romance. It has elements that I adore in romance -
You are not the only one who took that journey4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars. A fabulous Read!!! I always liked Historical Romances, no matter how complex or simple the story is, I always liked its essence. But, This Historical Romance is something else. AND I loved it.The first part of the book holds in Indian Subcontinent and the second part is on British land. The plot is based on the Sepoy mutiny of British Raj in 1857. I loved the story. I liked Emmaline but I loved Julian. Emmaline is
I read The Duke of Shadows for the first time some years ago before I started reviewing and I remember being blown away by the quality of the writing, the richness of the setting and the passion and intensity of the romance. I dont get much time for re-reading these days, but I decided one was in order prior to reading and reviewing The Sins of Lord Lockwood (Lockwood is a major and very intriguing secondary character in The Duke of Shadows), and I was once again awed by the authors talent
