Ilustration To Books Great Bear Lake (Seekers #2)

Destiny has brought them together. . . .

Young black bear Lusa has left the comfort of the zoo, determined against all odds to make her way in the wild. It is there that she encounters grizzly cub Toklo and a mysterious changeling named Ujurak. Once united, the cubs find themselves on a journey toward a mystical place--if only they knew where.

Meanwhile, separated from her family, polar bear cub Kallik trusts her intuition to lead her on a path traveled by many bears before her. At last the four cubs meet at the sacred Great Bear Lake, a place of peace and healing where bears gather to cele-brate the longest day.

But all is not harmonious. Danger lurks beneath the calm surface of the lake, and only if they put aside their differences and truly come together will the young bears have any chance of surviving the harsh realities of the wild.

Evaluate About Books Great Bear Lake (Seekers #2)
While I think this has really strong positive messages about being more aware of the other creatures on the planet besides humans, I thought at times it could be overly preachy. I also found Lusa to be somewhat annoying at times. Overall, I enjoy the story though and will continue because I know Tui T. Sutherland helped with this series.

My favorite part was when Taqqiq started to be nice again and defending Miki. My least favorite part was when Taqqiq twas trying to take over the forest from the black bears with his mean friends like Salik. I was so surprised when he was found again, because I wasn't expecting it at all. I really liked the fox friend of Kallik, and I was sad when the fox had to leave. The next book will be the first of the books where all three of the main characters are travelling together.

The book overall was a fascinating, and interesting book. It was based off several bears who seemed to have great character development. The plot was also very interesting. The only thing I found dull about the book was at some moments it was very predictable.

I read this because its been sitting on my bookshelf for years, I got through it quickly, it wasn't a hard read. It was good but a bit below my age range, skill level by the time I got to it.

As the intended audience is between eight and eleven years old, I am surprised to be enjoying the first two books in the series so much. I am thinking that the quality and depth of the story/writing has to do with the collaboration of multiple authors? I find myself connecting with Luca, and appreciate her kindness and courage. The most interesting bear is the one that shape shifts and I find myself wanting to know more about what he is and how he got his power. I'm looking forward to the next

Much better than the first book. All three bears are together now. Well, five bears. Ok 4 and one really mixed-up spirit?Like how the plot slowly brings the bears together and their sense of a quest.
